NIKOLAI SHELYAPIN

Ph.D. in sociological sciences, an associated professor. An associated professor of the public relations department of the Russian State Hydrometeorological University (St.-Petersburg).

Author of “The Near Caucasus” project that for the first time in the history of Russian PR became the winner of IPRA GOLDEN PR-AWARD international competition in the nomination “Devotion to the society” and was awarded with a special certificate of the United Nations Organisation. This project became a basis for writing a teacher’s edition “Training of tolerance” (Saint-Petersburg, 2005).

He is the author of more than 200 scientific works. From 2008 to 2011, he was an assistant to G.K.Leontyev, a deputy of the Russian Federation State Duma and the winner of the competition “Personnel reserve is the country’s professional team” in 2010. In 2012, he was awarded with a medal “For merits in preservation of the Russian culture”. Nikolay is the author and the host of “Russian ideas” programme on “Your Public TV!” channel.
